version four of wicked p was designed entirely for mac opera 5.0, which forced me to use (relatively) standards-compliant html. i hope it encouraged other people to do the same; i am constantly annoyed by the number of sites that look horrid on my mac, when just following standards would solve those problems. grr.

the imagery came from a series of purple images i had collected (as did the images for version five), and were influenced by other connotations of the "operatic" theme. i wanted something more colorful but also more subtle than the previous version, and i really wanted to return to my purple roots, after a brown version and a red version. it lasted from later summer 2001 to january 2002. and it made me decide to stick with purples for awhile.
